Are You Paying Attention to the Signs?

For years now, I have been asking for signs to give me tangible evidence that guidance does exist from the universe.  It does.  I am certain of this.  Just today another sign helped me to make a major decision that has been on my mind since yesterday.  Using the word major might be a stretch. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to say making the commitment to spend a few thousand dollars to make my journey to publishing more solid.  It was about the road to finding and securing an agent.

So back to the signs.  Every Sunday I attend a Flow 2 yoga class with an amazing instructor Karey.  At the end of the class, while in Savasana, (a short nap after yoga) my decision to spend the money came back to me.  Pushing it away, I bartered with the noise in my head.  My final decision would be predicated on the color yellow.  Odd it may seem; but not really.  Colors affect us all.  It changes our vibrations and sends messages to us daily.

My negotiations included two signs.  The first was that the color yellow had to appear at the back on my eyelids, right then, right there as I lay on my purple mat meditating.  If the color yellow appeared, it meant that the universe supported my decided to move forward.  If not, not a big deal. I trust my signs.  The second condition was that I had to see a YELLOW car on my seven minute drive home to my house from the studio.  Some of you might be thinking this is an odd choice for a sign.  Not really.  Let me get to that.

Right at the end of the Savasana, the color yellow showed up on the left side of my vision.  Relief.  It looked like it made sense to move forward.  Forgetting all about my second condition, I was stopped at a red light before I remembered to look around for a yellow car.  I scanned two large parking lots and dozens of cars around me.  All I saw were dark cars or lots of white dirty ones splashed with slush from the roads.  A favorite color among Americans.  Nothing yellow.  Nothing orange.  Nothing green or blue.  And then the notion of patience entered my consciousness.

With less than a mile to go, the universe allowed me to miss one more light.  And there it was.  Turning the corner was a yellow car.  Not only was it yellow, but it was vintage.  It was a vintage Corvette.  Then I laughed out loud.  My second confirmation.  Oh, and one more major coincidence.  The character in my book drove a Corvette. A 1969 model.  Only red.

And this folks, is why I ask for signs.  Pick something you love to use as your own personal way to receive signs.  It might be birds, animals, license plates,  numbers or number sequences, or certain types of people.  Be creative and get started.  I promise you will not be disappointed.
